The Glow Foundation is piloting a new program where it places cash bounties on solar farms that are brought to the Glow protocol. The size of the bounty is based on how many protocol rewards the solar farm is projected to earn. Participants in the bounty program get cash up-front for their solar farms instead of earning protocol rewards over a longer period of time.
The competitiveness of a solar farm is based on its size, its electricity price, and its overall carbon impact. Each value tends to have an optimal range, and the optimal range depends on the region that the solar farm is located in and the current competitive landscape for solar farms in that region. Often times, two solar farms located within a few miles of each other will have very different bounties.
Solar installers commonly run each of their potential projects through the bounty calculator, and then enroll any solar farms on Glow that have a worthwhile bounty.
If you have solar projects that you would like to enroll in the bounty program, or if you have any questions about the bounty program, feel free to reach out to solar@glow.org
